After years of being scoffed at by friends and colleagues Jerry McNeal (Richard Thomas) has secured documented proof that reindeer can fly. In fact not only does he have photographs and videotape of reindeer flying he has also found the magical North Pole village where they live with St Nick (Beau Bridges) and the elves. Now everyone will have to believe him - that is if he ever makes it back home. The residents fear that if Jerry proves their existence there will be such a barrage of media attention that they will cease to exist. They feel they must keep Jerry with them in order to save Christmas even though Jerrys wife and young daughter are waiting for his safe return.
